[Pyc-members] Safe Boating week!!

Dear PYC members,

 

     This year New Hampshire law requires that every operator of a vessel
with 25 horsepower or more possess one of the following:

 

1-      A state of NH Boating Education Certificate

2-      A U.S. Power Squadron Boating Education Certificate

3-      A US Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Education certificate

4-      A New Hampshire or Coast Guard license to operate a commercial
vessel

 

I recently met with the State of New Hampshire to discuss boating education
in New Hampshire, as I am the US Power Squadron Education Officer for USPS
and  was told that NH WILL be enforcing the law this year.

 

I would be willing to conduct a USPS basic boating course which is
recognized by NH law and meets all requirements if there are 8 - 10 or so
people interested in taking it.   The course will run 2 Saturday Mornings
(or a Saturday morning and Sunday morning if that's what people want) for 8
hours and include a proctored exam.   The cost of the materials is $25 for
one person and $40 for two people sharing a book.   

 

If anyone is interested, please let me know and I'll get back to you once I
know if there is enough interest.
