[Pyc-members] Fw: Information about the regatta

Dear PYC Member,

The Challengers Cup Regatta is next week on Sunday the 7th. This is a great cause and is only part race. The purpose of the regatta is to get people with disabilities out on the water in boat power and sail boats. Sailboats start in front of PYC and go to 2KR and Gunboat and back to PYC. The sponsor of the race is PYC but all boaters are welcome to join in. Power Boats do a series of stations with tasks.

Every boat takes at least one person with disabilities and that persons brings guest / guardian. 

Every year this event is held and the participants view this as the high light of the year. In some way it is like Special Olympics.

This year is the 17th year of the race. Unfortunately only seven boats have signed up. Usually we would have over 20 + boats.

If you have members that want to help out they will be glad they did. Please have them call Jesse at 436-6111.

It would be a tragedy if those that want to get out of the water can not go please do what you can to get the word out. Posters are at PYC and KPYC.
