Have a $250 application fee and a separate initiation fee which is due when the applicant joins. The initiation fee is equal to whatever the dues are for that year the applicant gets in. This will bump up the fee incrementally and we don’t have revisit the fee every year. The change would go into effect after the annual meeting for any applicants after the annual meeting.

This gives PYC $250 more than we are getting now and we don’t need to keep going to annual meeting to increase the fee. And the initiation fee price isn’t locked in 4 years ahead if time, assuming a 4 year wait list.
Annual membership dues
I’ve been working with Doyle and he has suggested a change to the by-laws to allow the BOD to set the membership fee up to a 5% increase without having to go before the members. Look at it as a cost of living increase, as needed. Any larger increases would need to go before the members.

For example for 2019 we could increase the fee up to $32. $650x.05x248 paying members. That is around $8000 which would just about cover our payroll increases the last two years. Some years we may not need to increase the dues at all.
We were at the Wolfeboro Yacht Club Saturday night and their fee is $775 for 125 members. It is a small but nice club house, a bunch of moorings and probably at least twice as many slips and has winter storage. So our $650 dues is not far off from that.
Food for thought
