From treasurer at portsmouthyc.org Mon Nov 1 12:23:22 2021 From: treasurer at portsmouthyc.org (treasurer at portsmouthyc.org) Date: Mon, 1 Nov 2021 14:23:22 -0400 Subject: [Board] Review of Fees and Agreements Message-ID: <045b01d7cf4d$922b4660$b681d320$@portsmouthyc.org> To the Board of Directors – It’s that time of year again! Annual Invoice Time! Attached are drafts of the various Agreements that I send along with the invoices on November 15. Please review them and let me know if you think anything needs to be changed. I will ask that they be approved at the 11/11 Board meeting. I made a small change to the Launch Agreement: line 4 used to end with “on or before the first date on which the Launch User wants to use the launch, but no later than June 1”. I took out the no later than June 1 part because we have a couple of ‘economy-minded’ members who wait every year until the middle of June or July to pay and then want to not just pay the fee but have the fee prorated. At the Board meeting, I will also ask for approval of the various fees we charge. Currently, those fees are: Annual Locker - $40 – Recommend $50 Seasonal slip - $75/foot – Recommend $80 Seasonal Mooring - $1600 – Recommend $1750 Seasonal Dinghy - $150 – Recommend $175 Seasonal Dinghy Pullout - $25 – Recommend $50 Seasonal Launch - $175 – Recommend $250 Other fees we charge during the season include: Transient Mooring July & August - $40 – Recommend $45 Transient Mooring June, Sept, Oct - $25 – Recommend same as July & August (we charge that anyway) Member Mooring - $15 (was $8)/night – Recommend $20/night Wait List Seasonal Launch - $450 – Recommend same One-way Launch Ride - $5 – recommend same or maybe $10 Member Dock or Slip - $10/night – Recommend $20/night or same as member mooring Please give these fees some thought. In the past, they have been somewhat contentious. Feel free to discuss them among yourselves prior to the meeting to minimize the time we spend debating them at the meeting. Note that dues and membership application fees are not on these lists. Those fees are fixed in the Constitution and can only be changed by a vote of the members as a change to the Constitution at the annual meeting. You might start thinking about that as well. A useful modification to the Constitution might be a clause to permit the Board to raise dues and application fees by up to 5% per year.
