[Board] Fwd: Guests on PYC premises

Hi Pat and Board,
At the last BOD meeting, it was decided to allow guests to use the launch. It seems to me that Steve is mistaken about allowing guests to use the dock and launch. The section of the minutes is below. Let me know if this is not correct.

Launch – Scheduling the launch in advance by members had been suggested. It was decided that advance notice by members to schedule the launch is not practical for members. The launch service will remain on a “first come, first served” basis. If this presents a problem, adjustment can be made later. Guests will be allowed on the launch. Masks will be required for staff, members, and their guests on the launch.

If guests can use the launch, then they could possibly use the passage to the dock to board members' boats.

Carole

It seems that with masks and using the side entrance and not using the launch that members should be allowed to pick up guests on the dock with our boat. I agree with no guests in the clubhouse, I agree with the no parking rule, and no guests on the launch is OK but we should be able to pick up a guests on the dock with our boats.

What is the difference between a fuel customer on the dock and a guest on the dock? Fueling rules require gasoline fuel customers to exit the boat onto the dock and fuel customers often exit their boats and go to the dock house to pay. It seems there is a double standard here and members with guests should be allowed the same access to the water front as fuel customers who are complete strangers to the club.

I am just trying to inject some commonsense into these rules for those of us who enjoy the waterfront at PYC with our friends, family and guests. We should be able to use the dock for water access for our friends and guests.
