All edits welcome. Please respond with any comments. If I get the okay from the majority to send to members, there will be no need for a conference call before our regularly scheduled Board meeting on May 14. If there needs to be discussion before May 14, a GoToMeeting wil be set for Wednesday May 6. Thanks in advance! Pat Dear Members, There are many questions about how PYC is moving forward to operate this season. The answer is thoughtfully with the health and well-being of our family, friends and neighbors the priority. Q: What is the status of May events? A: V/C Dave Kenepp regrets to inform members that all May events are cancelled due to the extension of the stay-home order. This includes: New Member Orientation; Opening Dinner Dance; Chinese Dinner; and the Memorial Day Breakfast. Some of these events may be rescheduled. The Clubhouse continues to be closed until further notice. Q: What is the status of docks-in? A: There are three major jobs that must be done before the marina-side of the Club is functional. They are docks -in, fuel lines and pump installed, and other utilities run to the docks and dock house. Docks-in will be completed with a crew of ten that includes the crane operator, Prock crew, and a few members. We are counting on you to show up if you have been invited to help. We are also counting on you to stay home if you are not part of the crew! Both are important to getting the job done within the confines of our current circumstances. What happened to the water line? No one knows what caused the water line failure last week. However, the water was turned on today after the repair. Thank you to Mike Coffey, Wes Smith and R/C Art Dionne for attending to this and so many other details. When will we know about the launch and other operational details of the marina services? It is anticipated that the BOD will have an update on operations after the May 14th Board meeting. This will include launch schedule, staffing, bathroom status, slips, moorings etc. Frieda is working on designing safe practices for staff and other management issues. What if I have suggestions or special circumstances? Please feel free to contact any of the Officers, Members of the Board of Directors, or Steward by email. Thank you for your patience as we work through making the new pier operational and changing our practices in light of COVID restrictions. Stay safe!
