Diesel boat refueling at he dock. One person is pumping fuel and the other three are on the boat smoking. A club member, not the staff person, asks them to stop smoking while the refueling is in progress. The member feels that the staff should have stopped the smoking. HOWEVER.... Look at #19 of the house and dock rules. When a diesel boat is refueling (unlike gas) it"s only RECOMMENDED that the passengers get off the boat. Also, smoking is ONLY restricted ON THE FUEL DOCK or in the dock house. This is interesting from a safety standpoint, but the way the rule is written, I would have a hard time counseling he dock staff. Food for thought as we move down the road..... The 2019 Club Rental Agreement states that PYC is smoke free!
