I agree Glenn, we are not reactionary, and certainly should not be
offended by Jerry's kind _offer_ (not an ultimatum) to stay on to assist
in training someone entirely new the following year. It is my
understanding no offers have been made to Frieda or Mike as yet so we
really don't know if they will be accepting, demanding or otherwise.
Frankly, I think the inmates are restless at this point not knowing
where they stand. And with regard to Frieda amassing an enormous
paycheck, since we have potentially so many dockhands (at lower rates of
pay), simply reduce the time Frieda spends on the dock by the amount of
training time she needs (probably very little; what's the big deal?).
Let's make an offer to these people and then see whether they are boxing
us into a corner (which I doubt; I think they feel they have a pretty
good deal at the club), or let them walk.
