Good Evening,

Thank you all for the input concerning the pay for Dock Master Mike.  The
decision has been made to pay him the requested $20 per hr.  This is my
decision after consulting with the R/C.  All of the dockhands except one
this year are new, without launch licenses and need training.
Additionally, Mike now is the only person that can do the weekly fuel
inspections.  The most important reason, however, is that I feel that we
need to provide the best possible service to our members, and without
retaining Mike, this would be very difficult for at least the first two
months of the season.  Steward Jerry relies on Mike to run the dock, and
Mike is an employee that he trusts.  As much as many of you will disagree
with this decision, this does fit into our pay band for dock master.  The
new people will not be paid the minimum of $10, but will get $9.  The
experienced launch driver will not get $16, but $15.  This will help offset
the pay for Mike.  Thank you for your understanding and again, this is my
