Going with a good vinyl is probably better for wear in the long term but I like the looks of carpet better. Where is the fading and wear happening, right by the door? Maybe a combination of vinyl or tile (if the floor is sturdy enough for tile and won't crack) 2'-3' out at the entrance and the rest is carpet? And we still have runner because of all the rocks.

Subject: [Board-2018] PYC Front Entrance Vinyl / Carpet

Good Evening all,

At the March BOD meeting I raised the question should I spend the time investigating the cost to replace the front entrance carpeting with Vinyl Plank flooring. It was agreed I should proceed and investigate vinyl flooring costs and carpeting costs. The front entrance be painted at the same time the restrooms are being updated.

Vinyl:

The Vinyl Plank is top of the line:

· 6” Width

· Waterproof not Water Resistance

· Non Slip

· .7 MM Veneer high core density

· Best wear resistance rated

· Installation “Clickable”

· Easy repair If plank is damaged.

Life estimate: Vinyl plank 20 to 25 years.

Maintenance: Damp Mop, yearly cleaning

Repairs: Damaged planks can be replaced.

Material cost $722.35

Installation $429.00*

Total: $1151.35

*Simple installation if someone in club could install save Installation cost $429.00

Carpet:

· Commercial Grade Carpet

· Rated Heavy Traffic

· Life time stain resistant

Material cost $494.64

Installation $144.00

Total $638.64

Life Estimate: Carpet 5-8 Years

Maintenance: Vacuum bi weekly

Repairs: None

Please advises:

· Should I proceed ?

· Vinyl or Carpet

I am leaning towards – Vinyl

Please provide your direction and feedback.

Thanks

Wes
