Good evening,
I'm looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow night but until then the attachment has some consolidated data and hourly wage grid FYI.
It is offered as a starting place to guide some of the salary/hiring decisions that the R/C and Board need to make.
If you have any questions, I'm happy to share my thinking.
Best to you all,
Pat

Mike,

My thoughts were developing an employee hand book, that would include this information and have employees sign when they are hired and receive the hand book.

Thanks,

Wes

Should the job description also be the contract? signed and dated by the employee?

I looked at the Steward and Dockmaster and did some minor additions, they are in red. Otherwise those two job descriptions look pretty good.

Hi Ron,

You are correct sir. There has been no firm decision on any salaries as of yet. My numbers were merely based on ranges that we paid last year to serve as a starting point to establish a realistic salary structure for the club. The feeling of the BOD is to establish a salary budget and construct salary ranges based on longevity and qualifications to fit within that budget.

Thanks...we need all of the input possible on this issue,

Glenn

Again, I am never at the club during the day, and have no experience with the boating goings-on, but I think bar tender salaries should be no more than $10/hr. In recent years they appear to make out very handsomely with tips, and there might be/may have been resentment by other staff who feel they work just as hard, if not harder physically. (NH law allows tipped wait staff people to earn less than minimum wage).

Thanks for your time at the meeting and I know we will have minutes but just a short list of IOU's:

1) Job descriptions. Art has sent what we have out (thank you sir). Please review for updates/changes and we will decide at the next meeting.

2) Pay ranges. My view of pay:

Entry level employee (no launch license) $10 - $12 per hr.

Launch license employee. $12 - $14 per hr.

Dock master. $15 - $20 per hour

Bar tenders. $10 - $13 per hr.

For present long time employees that are returning I would prefer NOT to cut their pay if we are able, but we have to start with definitive pay bands to get our pay under control. I have NO experience in setting civilian pay, so please take my input as only a starting point for discussion.

3) J-24 sailing event. Jeremy will send out concrete info from John McCormack

4) Jeremy send wait list launch agreement for review

I will send minutes of steward meeting in separate e-mail

Thanks,

Glenn
