From dswajda at comcast.net Thu Oct 12 08:52:26 2017 From: dswajda at comcast.net (DAVID WAJDA) Date: Thu, 12 Oct 2017 07:52:26 -0700 (PDT) Subject: [Board-2017] Gift to Portsmouth Athenaeum Message-ID: <1070894117.33319.1507819947088@connect.xfinity.com> Fellow Board Members - Sorry to bother everyone prior to our annual meeting this evening, but I just received a call from Carolyn Marvin who works for the Portsmouth Athenaeum. She informed me that our original Record Books on Deposit to them in June 1993 and additional folders of slides, photos and negatives of ship's figures added January 1996 were signed in under "loan" not gift in Lot # MS 047. Our current items were accepted as a "gift" and will be kept under archival conditions and available to anyone with permission to view. The older items (1993 and 1996) are gifted and do not fall under that category of protection. She discovered the discrepancy when she attempted to add our new items to the old Lot #. When we voted for the giving the Guest Book, Ledger (1943) and Ballot Box, I thought we were donating them to the Athenaeum for safe keeping rather than have them be destroyed through the coming years. If you are in agreement, I would like the board to vote that Lot # MS 047 be changed from "Loan" to "Gift" status for the protection of all the record books. The items were three (3) Record Books of Annual Meetings (1898-1988) and nine (9) Record Books of Officers and Director Meetings (1911-1992) . I thank you for your consideration and await your response. David -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
