[Board-2017] Launch Opinion

Fellow Board Members,

As you all are aware there has been a question raised by P/C Paul Goldberg and others that the Board of Directors (BOD) did not have authority to purchase the new launch. Secondly, a proposed letter to the BOD that the purchase, as concluded, clearly violates the spirit and intent of Article II, Section 6 of the PYC By-Laws regarding Capital Projects. 


After I received a call from P/C Paul Goldberg, I had conversations with V/C Glen Michael, P/C and current R/C Mike Coffee, P/C Art Dionne, P/C Nancy Gulley and P/C Dan Gingras - we all felt that we had purchased the new launch in an appropriate manner. Art Dionne graciously reviewed Article II, Section 6 and presented his comments in writing that is attachment 1. Nancy Gulley then forwarded an email from P/C Greg Gebow with an attached letter that was going to be sent to the BOD mentioned in the above paragraph. 


I sent the email from Greg and Art's comments to the Constitution and By-Law Committee (Joe Nadeau and Glen Graper) to take a look at the question raised by the Board's decision to purchase a new launch. Attachment two is Joe's response to my request. I also received a call from Glen Graper this morning that he reviewed the material and the response from Joe and came to the same conclusion. We did not violate the spirit or intent of the Constitution and By-Laws. 


I will be sending P/C Goldberg a copy of Joe's response regarding the BOD's purchase of the new launch.
