I think any excess should go back to the club.   If we want to collect money
for a charity I suggest we do it as a separate function at the party.

I received a call from Darleen Chadwick, Gala chairperson, and she had a
question regarding any extra money that may be raised at the event. She said
that she just needs a couple more people and she will break even with the
Wentworth CC. She is hoping to raise additional $500 from the raffle of
baskets and to cover the band. She was wondering if there is more money
raised rather than go into general fund could we make a donation to
Salvation Army or Crossroads at this season of giving. I told her I would
run her request by the board. Your thoughts?
