I've reformatted the potential list of options and left a spot on each for
other ideas.  We have Ron's response, so if the others could reply with this
email and mark the options you like, by what ever method you like or adding
in where the "??" are if you come up with more ideas or variations. I can
compile them into one email this weekend and send it out if that works for
everyone.

 

 

Members Children reinstatement options

1.	Up age 26, 5 years after becoming eligible. (there are plenty of
children that did not get this benefit Melisa and I being two of them 26 is
fine)
2.	Up to age 30
3.	Leave as is with no limit
4.	??

 

Spouse/ Sig Others options:  

1.	Deceased partner: 

*	Should immediately replace a deceased member, if they want it.  No
change in bylaws?

2.	Split partners: 

*	Primary partner continues
*	Secondary partner goes to the (remove top) reinstatement wait list
same as any returning member,  

*	Above any past members waiting on the list
*	Below any partner split already on the list
*	Add a check box on the application to indicate primary partner? 

*	No change to by-law that states a partner is a couple who joins at
the same time?

*	Does not apply if the current couple becomes a couple after one of
them has joined
*	Though what if they are both members, separately, then become a
couple (if one wants to give up their membership then they would have to
resign and come under the others family membership)?

3.	??                      

Time limit for reinstatement options: 

1.	up to 10 years, no sponsors, over 10 years with new sponsors
2.	No limit as it is currently
3.	??

Limit annual reinstatement options:

1.	One per year
2.	Two per year
3.	Three per year
4.	No limit as it is now (I recommend that we alternate one new and one
reinstatement or a combination of that 2-1 or 3-1 as needed, (maybe 2-1 with
20 on list 3-1 with 30 on list and so on.)

Well. It has happened.  Th ice machine is dying as I write this.  I told
Jerry to order the machine right now and it will be there in 3-4 days.
Word is it will make enough ice that we will not have to keep buying ice..
At the same time the refrigerators are being looked at.
Hope you all agree with the decision.  Heck of a time for a failure.

Sorry Roy, slipped my mind.

 

I think we should adopt a 1 reinstatement for every 5 new members.
Currently reinstatements represent 20% of members admitted, and this would
keep it about the same ratio.

I also think we should limit children to go to the top of the list only

1) No children as reinstatements.  They should apply and stand on their own
2) Deceased partner..no change
3) Split partners...one gets the membership...the other is on their own to
apply.  Eliminate automatic membership provision
    Joining at the same time should remain in section 4.  The last sentence
should be eliminated.
4) Reinstatement.  Change to 5 years.  If it is after that, they reapply in
the normal manner.
5) Reinstatement options....maximum of 2 per year.

You have probably already read the 6 email responses we have received but here is a summary, which might be a little cryptic:


Reinstatement Poll

So we aren't in total agreement but it is good to get the conversation rolling and get all the ideas written down. I changed some my thoughts after seeing some of the responses.

I've reformatted the potential list of options and left a spot on each for other ideas.  We have Ron's response, so if the others could reply with this email and mark the options you like, by what ever method you like or adding in where the "??" are if you come up with more ideas or variations. I can compile them into one email this weekend and send it out if that works for everyone. 











Members Children reinstatement options 




    1. Up age 26, 5 years after becoming eligible.    
    2. Up to age 30 
    3. Leave as is with no limit 
    4. ?? 








Spouse/ Sig Others options:   




    1. Deceased partner: 
        * Should immediately replace a deceased member, if they want it.  No change in bylaws? 
    2. Split partners: 
        * Primary partner continues 
        * Secondary partner  goes to the  top of the  reinstatement  wait list,  
            * Above any past members waiting on the list 
            * B elow any partner split already on the list 
            * Add a  check box on the application to indicate primary partner?   
        * No change to by-law that states a partner is a couple who joins at the same time? 
            * Does not apply if the current couple becomes a couple after one of them has joined 
            * Though what if they are both members, separately, then become a couple? 
    3. ??

Please accept my apology for the previous and mistakenly sent email. I'm in Moab, UT. with poor internet service answering this on an iPhone. Here goes again. I hope it make some sense. This is a starting point and I know we have some discussions ahead.

Divorce: Per court approved settlement 

Split Unmarried couple: They should figure it out, why should the club be put in the middle. 

Split of Members who became couples: Unless they are each paying dues, whichever one who gave up membership can reapply under reinstatement rules.

    1. up to 10 years , no sponsors,  over 1 0 years with new sponsors
