Hello Board Members - 




Below are "readings" from the Constitution and a proposed way of adding this to the agenda. 

I have attached an item which I could insert into the letter which is now at the printer and will 

be mailed Tuesday.

ARTICLE XI - Membership 

Section 1. 

The membership of the Club shall be limited to 250 paid members, exclusive of Life and Honorary Members. 



Section 2. 

There shall be three types of members: 

Active: Dues paying members in good standing. 

Life: Non dues paying members in good standing. 

Honorary: Non dues paying members who have been elected by the membership to 

enjoy the privileges of the Club for a period of one year. 




ARTICLE XV - Amendments 

This Constitution may be amended or repealed by a vote of two-thirds of the members of the Club present at any regular or special meeting, provided that each member of the Club shall have been notified by the Secretary what amendments are to be considered at such meeting at least ten days prior to the date of such meeting. Fifteen percent of the membership of the Club shall constitute a quorum at such a meeting. 






So, it seems that, if the entire membership is notified of the proposed change, then it can be added to the agenda for the upcoming meeting. 




The only way I could do this is to add an addendum to the letter which I will be sending out Tuesday. I think I could slip in another piece of paper into each envelope which would include this. 




We could also do a quick vote by the Board by email, which would be good, because we could say that it is recommended by the board. the Board vote doesn't appear to be required, but it would be a good thing to say the board approves the amendment.

Al Williams and a couple of other members have petitioned that a vote on increasing the membership be added to the annual meeting. 



There is no clear directions concerning adding member petitions to the annual meeting (nor any directions about BOD inclusions… perhaps we need to address this) 



Carol indicates that she can add a slip of paper to the mailing.
