The Historic District meets May 7th and we found out that our deadline is today, so we’ve filed the proper paperwork.  I think that doing this the proper way is the only option since it’s  visible from the street.   This adds an additional $500 in fees and costs to the project.     Ironically, there are at least 2 other doors EXACTLY like the new door in the neighborhood, so we don’t anticipate any problems except for the cost and delay.
