Update: The only language I could find that would come close to being a
prohibition may be in the Application for Membership document at

On page 4:

*"Because we are limited to 250 Active Memberships there is frequently a
Wait List for new members. While on the Wait List, applicants will receive
our regular Newsletters. While we regret that we cannot grant full Club
privileges to Wait List*
*members, we do encourage them to attend our social functions, always
accompanied by at least one sponsor." *

Encouraging these Wait List folks to attend social functions is consistent
with the intent of helping fulfill Article IX Section 5. I personally would
stop short of interpreting this as a hard limitation for Wait List members
attending only with Sponsors, especially since there is no apparent
limitation to "Guests" other than "reasonable numbers".  My opinion is that
we should not penalize someone from enjoying the club with non-Sponsor
Members based on that one statement.

The C&BLs set a minimum attendance w/Sponsor requirement, not a mandate
that they can only attend w/s Sponsor. Without knowing any other
particulars about the particular "chastising" event, I would error on the
side of the language in the C&BLs as being only a minimum requirement.
