Which states that resignations must be submitted in writing to the Club Secretary not via e-mail to the Commodore. Therefore your e-mail is NOT official correspondence! Also your current membership ruins through 31 Dec 2011, I suggest 30 Sept is a premature departure. Also I take more than a little umbrage at your apparent low esteem of your fellow PYC members! We count among our members 2 retired US Army Generals ( a 3rd on the wait list) plus numerous members who have SERVED HONORABLY over the years in all branches. Oh yes, member Sgt. Ian Clark just returned from an 11 month deployment! Greg Gebow Commodore Portsmouth Yacht Club Lt. Col. Nancy and I are resigning from PYC on September 30, 2011, hopefully placing us in the "good standing" category. I have to say that I am somewhat surprised and disappointed, that this is the only option. But then, I suppose PYC does not see many of members being activated for military service.
